This event is an annual one held at Fort Indiantown Gap near Annville, PA. I am a history buff and am particularly interested in WWII - the seminal event of the 20th Century. When I am photographing these kinds of events I try to focus on the participants and gain a feeling of the original history. We have seen thousands of photographs of the war and I try to recreate the look and feel of those photos. Of course, there is no snow and no fog as there was in the Ardennes in 1944. But it was cold.

This was a very well organized and run event. I coordinated with the WWII Federation and got permission to go on the battlefield. This is not open to the public. This is held on a very large scale with hundreds of reenactors, period vehicles, on a battlefield that encompasses, I'm guessing, 50-100 acres of land. It was great fun to shoot and the reenactors themselves are a great bunch of people. I spoke to many of them during the time I was there.
