Absolutely fabulous pictures! Especially the ones of the Capitol. As an impressionable school boy making that ritual field trip to the Capitol, it opened up avid interests in art, religion, history and civics that are with me today at 54. Your pictures are what's in my mind when I think of these things. Great that you share them. Thank you.

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your website. I am a native of minneapolis and have not lived there for some years now, though I visit family from time to time. Norway was the "Old Country" to my ancestors. Minnesota is the Old Country to me and I am very attached to it.

Most photographers do not think to get good street shots. I have wanted to take similar photographs in a small town in Wyoming for my job, because no one really thinks to take photos so the viewer can get a genuine sense of place. Your photographs have literally moved me to tears a couple times. They are so good and I so very much long to go home when I see them and visit with family and friends that are there and have one last cup of coffee with the ones that are not if it were possible.

Thank you for documenting my home,

Michael, I enjoy reviewing your work here. You have a great body of work on the Twin Cites.
Great job on the aerial views of the area. I've added you to my bookmarks to keep updated on your work.

Michael, I'm a local freelance writer currently working on a piece for a landscape construction trade magazine. David Motzenbecker at Oslund & Associates tipped me to your site. Your shots of the Gold Medal Gardens are terrific, especially the overall views, which would probably be of interest to the magazine. What would you charge for the use of one or two of your images? I can shoot some myself, but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be of the quality of what you've already done. Please contact me when you have time at 612-871-3698. Thanks!

Michael - you stopped by my galleries and mentioned about a place I took the MPLs skyline from - It is on the Franklin Ave bridge where it crosses 35w. There is a foot bridge that crosses 35w just east of the MIA (if you look there are places w/ holes in the fence where you can get some great shots.

BTW - you have some really great shots of the city. Probably see you around w/o even knowing :-)

What a GREAT Pride gallery of pics!!. I am currently attending a Masters Degree program at Iowa U,and miss Mpls soooo much, I laughed and laughed, and recognized way too many people in the pics. I used to work at The Firm and marched with Minnesota Freedom Band. Keep posting the pics, they are GREAT!!. Could I possibly get some of these from you to keep as a reminder at home, while I am in Iowa??.

Hi Michael, greetings from Australia. Thanks for dropping by my galleries. I went through your your Loring Park gallery but couldn't find the water feature you described was the same as mine in Sydney. Do you have a photo of it? I would love to see it. I also liked the Minnesota State Capital Galleries. They were my fav...

Hi Mike, Thanks for your comment on my FT. Myers Beach aerial. You probably wrote that a long time ago! Today (05/07/06) is the first time I have looked at pbase in over a year. I take aerials for realtors and custom home shots, mostly on Sanibel and Captiva Islands from my (slow is GOOD) Cessna 150. My favorite lens for aerials on my Canon DSLR is the mid priced EF 28-135IS. Better results than the 70-200IS. I bet your sister loves the wonderful traffic here, in season! You've got some great photos by the way....very artistic. Kudos, Mark

Hi Michael,
Thanks for your comment on my boeing 737 album. I was looking at yours and liked them too, those one of NW landing and burning rubber are nice. here at Mex City airport is too difficult to get ones burning rubber due to lack of spotting sites or need al least a 300mm lens.
thanks

Mike, I looked at the Oct.16th additions, remember it would cost me at least 2.50 a gallon for fuel to drive down and see all these changes, What a service you provide for the displaced. If you are ever near the main Post Office with your lens, shoot a picture of the Carlisle. It's to be 39 stories and I liked the architects renderings. Thanks NJM

Mike, I consider it a real privelage to have access to your photo gallery,AND to be your friend. The shots of what's happening in the city are especially theraputic to one who has left the area. You definitely have a calling behind the lens! NJM

I was looking at some posts on the 17-55mm lens and came across your gallery. The new Guthrie Theater caught my eye and see that you have many scenes that I'm familiar with since I'm often in these areas. It was a pleasure checking out your gallery. I'll check back sometime since you have some lenses that are of interest. I'm considering the 70-200mm vr in the future.

Thanks for the info on the foshay observation deck. I'll have to get up there quick.
