18-MAR-2009 Mark A. Krauss

2009-03-18

For a fleeting moment as the sun set tonight, it shone beneath the clouds at the horizon and painted the beach with this beautiful light.
~
When shooting this, I hadn't really noticed the way that the sunlight caught just the crest of the waves and breakers,
adding a little pink to them against the shadows of the near side of the wave. The sun was really low on the horizon to have so much of the sea in shadow.

It's like acrylics and pastels on the same paper. Very nice.

WOW, you're not kidding the light was just right! And the people in the scene made the comp extra special too.

Nothing quite like sunset light at the beach. . . .

DOF here works great to create endless space.

Thats fabulous, most intriguing I've seen in a while. Love the light, the close subject matter, the hazy background, even the two tiny people at the end of the beach.

That warm light really lights up the beach nicely. To me, that couple walking on the beach in the background adds a very important element to the photo.

Mark, this is beautiful and I agree with all Vern has said.

A very neat image, Mark. I like the narrow DOF, with the background objects thrown completely out of focus. This gives a 3-D effect, I think. It is a pleasing image, well composed.
