First Kingfishers I have seen this year..
01-MAY-2013

First Kingfishers I have seen this year..

This is why I need a longer lens of superb quality!
I know it was a long way off
But I wish I could have got closer to them.
Maybe next time I can get a better photo, only 300 more to upload of them....

Crop photo so you can see them....

Doesn't seem to matter what part of the World, these little birds look great wherever they are! Well done. V

Nice capture!

Great find and capture, with two at once! 400 mm is a pretty long lens! V.

I definitely like that I can see the surroundings too here, so longer is not always better:) V

Oh you stinker! Kingfishers and two of them! Wish I could be with you.

Like Stephanie I only have a 70-300mm so your photo is somewhat better than if I'd taken it... Lol. I haven't seen any Kingfishers this year so you are one up on me.

Wonderful capture of this pair! BV
At least you have a 400mm lens! I'm still using a not-so-good 70-300mm lens which doesn't begin to do the job. :(

How exciting to see two together and you have captured them so perfectly to show the front of one and back of the other. Maybe invest in a teleconverter in the meantime?

Aren't they a pretty bird, so lucky to capture 2 of them Martin!

Still a fantastic image of them, great to get two in the same frame. v

Oh what a fabulous sight - you are very lucky to have seen them. I've only ever seen kingfishers a handful of times in my life.
shatterbug02-May-2013 06:28
Wow, you got two of them....cool!

I would be delighted to have a pair and keeping still; gains in context and atmosphere anything lost in detail
