This gallery is reflects a part of what I saw and will hopefully allow you to have a sense of what I felt. This was my first visit to Asia. So, these are the views of a novice to the cultures. This can lead to a freshness of vision, but, I also hope that the images reflect the profound respect I feel for the people I met and the places I visited.

It's a special treat for me to share these images here with you, Tim, because I was there with you when you made many of these photographs, and to see the finished work here is a stunning validation of your skills in three distinct areas. First, your vision. You simply see things that others look right past. I can attest to that -- many of these subjects were right in front of me, and I never saw them, but you did. Second, your photographic style -- you are able to organize an image in a way that makes expression uniquely yours and leaves an indelible imprint on the imagination of the viewer. Third, your gifts in post-processing. In essence, you take the image that came out of your camera and enhance it in subtle yet profound ways, reinforcing your vision and your style in the process. (Pun intended.) The combination of all three skills has produced a gallery that among the finest galleries of travel oriented imagery I have ever seen. Your images are exquisite. They excite the imagination because of the degree of abstraction, the subtle incongruities, and the rich human values they project. You make your choices in light, time, and space consistently and wisely. And in your own very special voice. I will get into specifics under many of your photos.
