As the usual driver of the first car, I was able to pull over and stop the car when the scene demanded that I do that. This is probably one of my favorite images of the entire trip.
I, too, saw this cloud, photographed it, and experienced the "wow" factor. I know that it must have a meteorological explanation, but I'll settle for the spiritual! Both of your "wows" put an exclamation point on nature's wonders.
I agree. It is a cloud to die for. It is a metaphor for all the ghosts of death valley. It is a haunted placed, and this image, more than any other in this gallery, conveys that idea.
