Arch Detail - Vientiane


This detail shot of the Arch of Victory also points out another detail I noticed a lot which was the use of colored light bulbs, rather than a lot of neon, or the more modern kind of signs that we currently see in the US.

Another insightful abstraction. The architecture here was conceived to impress and express. Yet crude strings of lights and lack of funds for maintenance add a layer of incongruity and truth.
