All that has been commented, and more. This is probably my favorite image in the gallery although there are so many others that I love as well. Aside from the timelessness of the layers of rock, I have to comment on the abstract value of this image (being a designer), and the wonderful negative/positiveness of the opposing shapes here. My eye goes back and forth between the two, tying to decide which form is in front of the other. A great trick the eye piece as well as beautiful and of course infused with meaning.

I think Phil pretty much said it all. What an incredible image, Tim. V.

Flawless composition, simplicity and beauty! This makes a great print too!

I agree with everything Phil says - the rock is like fabric, woven with layer upon layer of the passing eons.

Breathtaking -- an image unlike any I've seen before. A vision of time etched in stone, layers and layers of time precisely arranged by natural forces, evoking the story of the earth itself. Beautifully composed from corner to corner, and rich in contrasting tones, colors, and pattern, It is an image worth contemplating.
