Many little things to ponder in this image, but I also love the lighting! The sunlight is on his shoulder and the lamps are out. I like how the main focus is on the figure.
Very amusing -- St. Theodore of Amasea, who stands on the sacred crocodile of Egypt upon one of the columns at the entrance to St. Mark's Square, seems to be pointing at the gull flying overhead with his spear. I note he is wearing halo as protection.
