Your color version brings out the goods he carries in his bags and the warmth of the sun and the thrust of an arm that shows no hand. In my black and white version, I saw him as a ghost from another time, less real than yours, a symbol of a Vietnam that actually no longer exists. In your image, the past is alive and well. Fascinating.
