DSC05882_1_24mm-fringing_web.jpg

021718:
My new Sony FE24-105G is extremely sharp at all focal lengths in the entire central area even wide open at f4.0. It exhibited some lens tilt in my preliminary (and relatively close) artificial testing and that affected the far corners.
However, in the field that will almost always NOT be a problem since different distances can put that area in more than acceptable focus and sharpness.
Unfortunately on my copy and in this test shot I see harsh fringing affecting the corners at 24mm in high contrast situations.
Its early in my experience with this lens but out-of-focus items seem to exacerbate this phenomenon excessively and most examples are modes and easily corrected.
