The KC-135 has its boom down, so it's most likely there's a receiving aircraft taking or ready to take fuel. I flew KC-135s in the '70s, when they were already 20+ years old. Most amazing flight was over North Pole, flying THROUGH Aurora Borealis, which, until I did it, I did not know you could do. I had always thought Northern Lights were like rainbows. But back to the photo, great composition, great patience, to line up your subjects for your plane and moon pictures.
