We went out to look at Christmas lights last night! This has to be THE most decorated house north of Pittsburgh!
Unfortunately, I did not take my tripod, but with this amount of light, was able to shoot at ISO 800.
Got home too late to process my images, so here is a late post!

Since a few people have asked, I have heard that the electric bill for this house is $2500.00/per month during the holidays!!

Please view in ORIGINAL!

some people want to get noticed!

Wow! My first thought here was that it was some sort of table top display. I'm surprised too that it's still decorated this time of year. Impressive nontheless and captured very well. I'm also curious as to the time it takes to set everything up and then take it down again.

Beautiful colors.

You must have a very steady pulse Mindy. This shot is still sharp on handheld shot. :) And the electric bill, wow, I can even buy a much better camera with the cost. *lol*. :)

Truely amazing festive lighting and lots of details!! Very nice shot even without a tripod.

I am amazed that this was shot without a tripod. Truly amazed. Its a great shot of the lights. I love it offset from the black as you've done here. Very nice

Beautiful!
The shot and the lights. Your hands sure are steadier than mine. :)

Truly amazing light show ... wonder what the neighbours think about all the traffic? :)

Magical scene, Mindy. What a lot of work they put into the displays. You did a wonder of a job in capturing it.

Great shot Mindy!
Steelers look awesome at this point 28-17!

2500 a month?! I believe it! We visit a house like this every Christmas...takes 30 mins just to round the block because of all the traffic! Well done, Mindy, esp without a tripod.

Very clean night shot.

WOW That neat

That is a spectacular scene, and your wide angle lens caught it quite well. And there is no apparent noise. My surprise is that the house is still decorated this late in the New Year!

An astonishing shot handheld, they gotta be down today. Voted.
Sean Blumenhein08-Jan-2006 20:35
I bet he has fun trying to figure out which one has burned out!
Franziska Lang08-Jan-2006 20:29
Holy moly I can only imagine what their electricity bill is like. Great capture though, Mindy, especially without that tripod.
Sharon Rogers08-Jan-2006 19:28
You are very steady Mindy! Fine shot. (That must take them 6 months to put up the lights and another 6 to put them away!)
joanteno08-Jan-2006 19:06
Wow! Spectacular handheld and decorations!

Doesn't even look like a real house. I wouldn't have known you weren't using a tripod if you didn't say so. This looks like one of those model houses people put on the mantle at Xmas.

Wonderful image, Mindy. BTW, are you a member of the 10D list on yahoo?
CJ Burianek08-Jan-2006 18:39
Beautiful shot! Perfect exposure and great clarity.
Great display too... though don't think I'd want their electricity bill !
Guest 08-Jan-2006 18:27
Well captured, Mindy. And what a display!
Kathy Pedersen08-Jan-2006 17:33
This is fabulous, the colors are outstanding.....what fun you must have had!! Thank you for sharing!
Guest 08-Jan-2006 17:30
I can't believe that I don't see any more noise. This is fabulous. I'm also really disappointed in myself for not trying this. We also went to a place like this and I didn't want to bring my tripod. I never thought to set it to a higher ISO.
Did you have to do a lot of noise reduction in PS? Congrats, Mindy...again, you amaze me :)
