Hawks from Eagle; Portland geese; Michigan herons, Etc
Items 1 - 4 are from a brief visit to the Attwater Prairie Chicken National Wildlife Reserve, in Eagle, TX, about 60 miles West of Houston, March 18, 2006. Nary a chicken in sight, but did see a Crested Caracara just after a lunch break, plus a Northern Harrier as a bonus.
Items 5 - 8 are from a trip to wetlands just North of Portland, OR, also March 2006. The geese are alarmed by a Bald Eagle just out of the image on the right; it seems Canada Geese gain altitude faster than Snow Geese in such a situation. The bottom two are Portlandian sparrows.
Items 9 - 11 are from March 25, Kensington Metropark NW of Detroit, plus the RW Blackbird.
The Osprey and the GB Heron silhouettes are also from Kensington Metropark, but from March 31.
