The Nashville Parthenon

One of the "must-see" sights of Nashville is the Nashville Parthenon, a full sized reproduction of the original in Greece which disappeared. The Nashville Parthenon was originally built in 1897, with the permanent structure built between 1925-31. The 1990 re-creation of the Athena Parthenos statue is the focus of the Parthenon just as it was in ancient Greece. She stands 42 feet high, and carries more than 8 pounds of gold leaf. The "angel" in her hand is Nike, the goddess of victory, which is about 6 feet tall.

Laura,I saw some Greek and Roman archeolical sites but then one's imagination has to get in action to reconstruct things.
Here we have a very good and of course intact copy and it must to great to walk in and around this place.
