It is worth every moment it takes to drive down the windy roads to reach this delightful national park. These trees are old-growth coastal redwoods. Very few places have old-growth forests remaining.
The trees in this park average 600-800 years old, but the oldest is 1100 years old!
The giant redwoods and lush area take your breath away. Great trails with bridges crossing the stream make this fun for all ages. There is a fairly level loop that can even be done with a wheelchair (I know, because we've done it!)
