I decided to throw caution to the winds and, after making up the wooden end and sides to brace the abutment, I misted it all with water and then applied Gorilla Glue to the end wall, and the wooden sides. Slapped it all together on top of wax paper, and added plastic on the corners so I could clamp them all together. Fingers are crossed for a good glue-up, it'll sit 24 hrs. now.
