UK Passerines

IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER DATE OR CLASSIFICATION, A SAMPLE OF SOME OF THE IMAGES I AM TAKING OF UK BIRDS.
Most images are taken using a canon 40D and either a 300mm f2.8, 300mm f4 or a 600mm f4. invariably there is a 1.4X attached which is a habit that I should really get out of! Other gear I use comprises of Gitzo 3540LS tripod with a Wimberley 11 head.I have recently (Dec 08) bought a 1Dmk11N and this has now become my main camera. The difference in auto focus tracking between this and the 40D is mind blowing.
I treated myself to a Canon 7D for Christmas 09 and most of the latest images will no doubt be taken with it.

nb. With the benefit of a couple of years experience under my belt, I now realise that most of my post processing is crap. I will undergo a full review of it as time allows.
If you feel that some of my latest images appear to be Dull/soft, it is because I have come to the conclusion that many of the bird images on the the web are overly saturated/sharpened and I am conciously trying to avoid going down this road.

Please note:
There is a tidal wave of angst levelled at bird photographers by bird watchers. Some of it justified and some of it not.
I was a bird watcher myself for over 20 years prior to photographing them. NO bird has endured unecessary disturbance during photographic sessions conducted by myself. This site does not contain any images of captive species.
