Kuala Gula is a mangrove swamp located in Perak, Malaysia. It has been established as a bird sanctuary by the Department of Wildlife and National Parks because of the richness of wildlife especially birds that the area hosts.
Kuala Gula is a major stop over for migratory birds coming from the northern hemisphere. Therefore the best time to witness the visiting birds are in the months of October to November. The images here were taken over the Summer of 2005. As you can see, there are some permanent residents here which can be seen all year round. |
