Hello,

I've enjoyed looking through your galleries. All of them are truely amazing!I had the Canon 10D which I gave to my youngest son. I couldn't ever get as good of an image as you do. I now have the Canon 5D and I have improve some. What you can do with the 10D, I only hope that I can do as well one day.

Great shots, Mike!

I'm an Ottawa resident as well and have just atarted into SLR photography again (EOS 20D with the f 2.8 Ls (24-70 and 70-200 IS). Thinking of adding the 10-22 anf the 2X. Have had a Pro 90 IS for 3 years (> 20,000 pictures around the world).

If you'd like, maybe we can hook up some time for coffee todiscuss our mutual passion.

Ciao

Bernie

Hi Mike,

I've enjoyed looking through your galleries. You have a good eye for finding strong geometries and isolated interesting details. I see we also play in the same backyard. Thanks for sharing.

Left a message on your Winter Pictures Gallery before realizing you had a guestbook. What I said there applies here. Obviously a lot of time and love of photography are evident. Thanks again for the memories of Ottawa.

Dave.

Mike; I got quite a kick out of your pictures, especially the ones from Pakenham. Those of the stone bridge look to be shot from the same spot I have used to background several motorcycle shoots I have made. I would like to talk to you about your printer.
Thanks;
Don

Hey Mike,
Nice galleries of "the O valley"!
Just bought the same lense as you - 70-200 L USM IS. Now just waiting for
the 20D body.

Cheers,
Vic

Mike your photos of Ottawa are just wonderful. We both have pretty much the same equipment, I regret not having checked for, and found, your Ottawa pics before - I'm here (in Ottawa) visiting for the weekend and it would have been great to be as inspired as I am this morning, only a few days earlier! Oh well. We lived here for 20 years until about 8 years ago and this is really my first time back - looking forward to getting out and doing some shooting. Thanks for the inspiration!

As long as you are looking at the original size, they are all 100% crops, so a lot of blackness has been cutaway, but the size of the moon has not been changed.

Due to the size of the sensor on the Canon EOS 10D, you have to multiply the focal length of the lens by 1.6. So, a 300mm lens on a 10D is the equivalent of a 480mm lens on a standard 35mm film SLR.

Hi Mike,

Been through your galleries, lots of very nice picture that i liked. Had one question about the Moon gallery pictures, are all of these full size without any croping, moons seems very big for 300 mm ?

Brgds, Michael
