Fly Agaric Cap/Amanita muscaria

Infamous in the mushrooming world, this is your classic red and white fairytale toadstool; so when I came across a small glade filled with these one autumn I had no problem imagining a fairy resting on one. The mushrooms common name ‘fly agaric’ refers to a milk produced using the vivid coloured caps, which, in medieval times was used to repel flies.

I love the color and pattern. Who knew a mushroom could be portrayed so beautifully
