The Yellow Flag Iris produces striking, elegant flowers between June and August; and is a common sight lining riverbanks and wetland habitats throughout Great Britain. It stands around 1m tall, with stiff sword shaped leaves. This iris is useful for bioremediation, as it can absorb toxic heavy metals from polluted water sources.
