Banded Bracket Fungus/ Many Zoned Polypore/ Trametes versicolor

A brightly coloured polypore fungus frequently found on dead hardwood, in this case the burnt out remains of an old beech. Individuals of this species have highly varied appearances, being built up of hard, concentric rings of red, brown, orange, yellow green and white tissue. This photo reminds me of underwater corals; and was taken using a white reflector.
