Retired WWII Tank

Dunmore, Lackawanna County, PA

No longer in service, the vintage World War II armored vehicle, camouflaged in blue and green, served this country, in Europe, in battle and combat, with distinction. Today it is on military display at a fork in the road on Blakely Street in downtown Dunmore, Pennsylvania, just outside of Scranton. Michael, I think these smart asses were trying to give you a hard time for no reason, just like some of them were questioning my photographic skills and knowledge of the history athttp://www.pbase.com/eldarrio/image/51518442 . Yet, what really counts here is not an age of the tank or its origins ( it could have been a submarine for the same matter ), but rather mezmerising vision of photographer who understood quintessentials of contrasty colour gamma while blending red gravel/rocks with crocodile green skin of the tank ! That's what separates genius from schmacks and brings him through the clouds of bupkas to the paramount of artistic universe ! Now, after I satisfied my chutzpah and protected you from schmoozing nudnicks, I can enjoy my regular dinner with matza dipped in to borsch...

No, it is NOT a W2 tank. Note the suspension and muzzle brake. It is an M-60 "Patton" in service by the USA and many other countries since approx 1960. US Marines used the M-60 during the 1st Gulf War. Many countries including Israel, Brazil, Thailand and others still use it today.
