St. Mary's Church - a Contemporary View

Scranton, Pennsylvania

This old Catholic Church, built in 1902, is difficult to photograph. Two main problems. First, it is located too close to other structures, and secondly, it is surrounded with a plethora of ugly telephone wires. Now having said that, when I got real close to this building, I noticed a wide angle photo opportunity, and the overcast nature of the skies helped more than hurt.

An excellent capture, Michael. Thanks for the story behind this shot. Sometimes such situations push us even further to give our heart & soul to produce such images from difficult situations. In the end we sometimes come out with shots that we may not have noticed. Great shot, lovely colours, excellent composition !
Jim.
