Collegiate Parish Church of St. Stanislaus - Interior

Former Jesuit Church built in Baroque style. Construction was started in
1651-1653 by Thomas Poncino; continued in 1677-1686, after the design was
modefied by a Jesuit architect Bartlmiej N. Wasowski (nave body),
completed in 1696-1701 by Giovanni Catenazzi (transept and presbytery).
Interior decoratrion was made by: Wasowski and Alberto Bianco from Italy
(stuccowork), Karol Dankwart from Nysa (frescos). The authors of three
huge altars are not known and the remaining altars were made - to a design
by Franciszek Kozminski - by stuccoworker Alberto I. Provisore and sculptor
Jan Weydlich. The facade to a design by Wasowski, visible and
perspective of Swietoslawska street, was modified around 1750 by, among
others, adding the portal designed by Kozminski and an alcove with a
sculpture of St. Ignatius Loyola, the founder of Jesuit order. Since 1798,
a collegiate parish of St. Mary Magdalene and since 1952 the Sanctuary of
St. Mary of Perpetual Help.
