We took a chance to explore Portland in mid October knowing about the weather uncertainty. We were rewarded with plenty of sunshine, blue sky and foliage colors which no photos could do justice to it. Our fist day hike was the 4T (for Trail, Tram, Trolley and Train) trail, a four-plus mile winding thru the hills of the Southwest region of the city of Portland. The trailhead starts at the Portland Zoo in the hilly part of the city. The 4.5 mile walking trail winds its ways thru the dense woods and ends half a mile from the tram station to descend the hills where one would catch a trolley for a few blocks ride to a train stop in order to catch a ride back to the zoo.
