We hiked this trail again since September 2004 when we hiked the Half Dome trail. This trail took us to two waterfalls, Vernal and Nevada. The distance from the trailhead parking lot to the top of Vernal Falls is 2.0 miles. Another 1.4 miles trek took us to the top of Nevada Falls. This route is shorter but steep with many staircases over boulders. The return trip is via John Muir trail which is a bit longer much and less steep. It took us two hours and 40 minutes to reach the top of Nevada Falls and only an hour and 40 minutes on the return trip...
