Just as I had extension tubes on my camera, and was getting prepared to try some supermacro shots of this wildflower a beautiful monarch appeared on the scene. It was one of the biggest and brightest monarchs I have ever seen. Of course I scrambled to get the tubes off and managed to get one shot (not very good) of the monarch before it fluttered away. I waited for a few minutes hoping for its return but it didn't happen while I was there.
