The town of Crystal is 0.2 of a mile beyond the mill. It was founded in 1880 by prospectors. Seven working silver mines kept Crystal going, and by 1886, about four hundred people lived in the town that had two newspapers, two hotels, saloons, billiard parlor, barber shop, and the men-only Crystal Club (middle).
Daniel's pictures were taken on Canon reflex cameras on Fuji color print film. He uses Kodak Photo CD to have this large amount of pictures digitized. Daniel works as a web designer and therefore he knows how to compress pictures for publishing on the web. He uses a lot of his sparetime for working on the pictures while Carola writes captions that tell these old town's stories. They both live in Switzerland.
