Edward Bakston 18-Sep-2015 22:26
Greetings; My name is Edward Bakston. I was in the home from 1957-1965. I got to know quite a few people. Remember T.C? She was a girl who worked there; I sort of had a crush on her. Here are a list of names you might know: Donald and Raymond Thiel, Larry Baumann, Joseph Seedorf, Michael Flannagan, Willy Lovewell, Tom McClain, John Dunshee, Robert Ferris and his sister, Paul and Georgette Cody, Carmin Mejerrick, Ruby Mussanti, Douglas and Gregory Noah, Richard, Paul, and Phillip Binachek, Gloria Brown, David Cimbore, Sister Celestine, Sister Carmeline (both nuns were my all time favorite). Remember the rubber factory fire? We all stood outside and watched. It wes totally awesome!! The biggest I saw when I was a kid. I played the Pied Piper of Hamlin on stage, and sang "The End of the World with 2 other guys in accapella, for the amateur hour. By-the-way; wood shop was called Manual Training. I could go on and on, because I remember so much about the place, I could almost write a book about my times over there. One more thought before I go; I ran away from the place twice; once with a group of guys; Donald Thiel was one of them (he lost his glasses on that one). Them me and Joseph Seedorf took off, and we hid out in his uncles' guest house. lol lol lol. It was fun and exciting to say the least. Anyhow, me Email is bakstonfedward@outlook.com Hit me up sometime Bye for now

Diana was always getting hurt as she could never turn down a dare.Or be told No We are soon To be 60 God has his way Praise him. I remember swimming lessons and That blasted silver tree. But the Nun"s saved my life as I had meningitis. And was in the infirmary for two months in 65 I am greatful Believe this When we were little we had it much worse so. At least we were safe. WE went to see Sister Virgil when she was in her 70's Believe it or not the Nun's did care. I learned to use my hands I am still making Quilts. I learned to sew there too.

I was in the orphanage from 1964-1976. I remember the Ervolinas, Intorres, Susan Monde, the Kania Brothers, the Reynolds, Kessicks, Deers, Fran Rogers, ..Nuns...like Sisters Hiltrudis, Dennis, Agneta, Lauretine, Virgil, Carmeline, Rita, Josanne, Celestine, Mr Mirko, Mr Slack, Dorothy Gay our dance teacher, Rusty, the german sheperd dog,and many more. I remember the Halloween and Christmas parties, camping at Seven Hills girl scout camp, Sunday night movies, along with the many unjust and painful moments of punishment and challenging relationships with those involved. Good or bad, pretty and ugly, God had a plan for all of us. I learned that if you dwell on the past, you forsake your future. Today can be your new beginning, because YOU have the power to change anything with the help of Jesus, who really loves you! God bless...you are all the best! God bless and have an awesome day! Love you all!, Sylvia Rose Bettencourt (Kremblas)....
