Intellectually I know it rains in the desert, but emotionally it still doesn't equate when I see it.
Having lived most of my life in the verdant midwest and northeast, one thinks of the desert as dry
and barren but at least this part of the Sonoran Desert is anything but that, while we've been here anyway.
Classic definition of a desert is an area that receives less than 10 inches (25 cm) of rain annually.
