Cactus Raindrops 76585

Sonoran Desert

Intellectually I know it rains in the desert, but emotionally it still doesn't equate when I see it.
Having lived most of my life in the verdant midwest and northeast, one thinks of the desert as dry
and barren but at least this part of the Sonoran Desert is anything but that, while we've been here anyway.

Classic definition of a desert is an area that receives less than 10 inches (25 cm) of rain annually.

Photographed west of Tucson, Arizona USA.

Super macro Gordon. Love the reflections in the water drops.
