Lone Tree After Sunrise 20071008

This tree and its setting have fascinated me since I first saw it, but hadn't gotten the atmospheric
conditions I wanted (just enough haze to soften the distant trees but not so much to obscure them
completely and with an interesting sky at the same time) until this morning, a six week wait.

Photographed near Lindsay, Ontario Canada.

Great Image, Gordon; thank you for posting the "making" of it, too. Indeed it is "whole"

What a thrill it must have been to be there and catch the moment, magnificent work.
The colours, the clouds, the early morning mist and your eye for superb composition, great combination Gordon. V.

Your composition of the clouds, that 'zig-zag', is great. Wouldn't be the same without the contrasting tree. Good eye! j r hudson

I love my Nikon but sometimes I see color and quality in a picture that gives me Cannon envy. This is one of them.

Love this scene. I'm just starting out and taking classes. We were just talking about visualizing what a scene can look like with the right clouds and lighting. I am going to show this as an example of patience and an artful eye. Thanks for the inspiration.

Lovely colours. I like how the tree is not placed on the thirds, always good to break some rules.
