Extending Dynamic Range (HDR) Technique

Similar in results to Contrast Masking, this blended exposure technique also shows a method of extending dynamic range in a digital image but by using two exposures of the same scene (either from a bracket or exports from a RAW file with different exposure values), one for highlight detail and the other for shadow detail, where the highlight detail in the darker image is automatically selected by simply Command (Ctrl) clicking on the RGB composite channel in Photoshop's Channels palette, copying, and then pasting into the lighter image used for shadow detail and then adjusting to suit.
