Photos taken during my stay in the Sonoran Desert south of Ajo (pronounced Ahhh'-ho), Arizona USA, the Photo Odyssey's 140th camp. The purpose for being in this area is to photograph organ pipe cacti, which while apparently common in the Mexican region of the Sonoran Desert, they are fairly rare in the US, growing in only this small area of southern Arizona.

So, the photos here were taken in the northern central region of the desert, which extends farther west into California, east a bit beyond Tucson, Arizona, and much farther south into Mexico and, as can be seen in these photos, the Sonoran Desert is not a barren wasteland like some deserts, but is actually teeming with life, both flora and fauna, at least in this region of it.
