Gloom with a view 2

A variation on the previous wide-angle view, but here with the lens closer to the window and so influenced by both internal and external light.

For the best result two images were blended, derived respectively from different settings of white balance in the original RAW camera file, one set for the internal environment (incandescent) and the other for external daylight. The external scene has a little too much blue tone, but I quite like the effect.

other sizes: small medium original

I would be a lousy cook with such a glorious gloomy distraction. Wonderful camera work.

Very nice image, and I must say with that view I might enjoy washing the dishes.
Excellent post processing and I agree with you on the final effect.

I like the blue tone, too. It's what gives a sense of early morning or "just after the storm" to the garden outside. And in turn that makes the interior seem extra cozy. Thanks for including the information about the blended layers. I find that very helpful and inspiring.
