Gloom with a view 1

Shot with available light early on a gloomy morning before the sun broke through. I don't use this marvelous wide-angle lens nearly enough so I have resolved to carry it more often.

Title with acknowledgement to EM Forster's "A room with a view" (1908).

Love the view! It offsets the gloom nicely! A beautiful wide angle shot, Brian. V~

Let me know if you plan to sell your house, this outlook is wonderful and on a morning like this the smell of the bush would be beautiful...

You know you should do don't you. Fit the lens to your camera and go out for the day with nothing else...

If I had this view from my kitchen window, I'd definitely be doing the washing up more often! Thanks for sharing with PBase.

I am glad you didn't leave the dishes on show. I love the mood and am very envious of the lens!.

You have to forgive me, Brian, but the view you're viewing from your gloom looks like Eden to me. We've had a sudden warm streak, so our Chicago snow disappeared leaving gray mud and skies for the foreseeable future. Seems like it's always greener on the other side of the Equator!

I have been reading about the various extreme wide-angle lenses and they look like loads of fun. Personally I get a kick out of the distortion. It seems to simulate the experience of seeing a scene through the other person's eyes.

Uh-oh...I just realized that the photo reminds me of something else...LOL! It's like the transition from B&W to color in the movie, "Over the Rainbow," when the tornado plunks down Dorothy's house...of course, in Oz!

Surprisingly green there in the hills, Brian. A lovely view of the bush too.

Hi Brian,
If I had a view like that above my sink I'd get rid of my dishwasher. Wonderful shot with that wide angle lens. And terrific title. \/
