Bandicoot

The Southern Brown Bandicoot is one of many types of small marsupials that live in thick forest undergrowth. Most are nocturnal. Bandicoots have the shortest gestation period of any mammal ... about 12 days! The female often carries two or three young in a backward-facing pouch for about seven weeks.

There are all new facts for me about bandicoots. The rich variety of survival tactics among the critters down under is awe inspiring. He/or she is quite a fetching character. Those piercing dark eyes make it quite a character.

Thanks, Brian. I enjoyed the chance to see this lil Bandicoot!
