Jedson "000" comparison with Martin 000-28

The purpose of the comparison is to show similarity in materials and design. Jedson was a company noted for making copies of well-known guitars such as the Les Paul and Fender Telecaster. It would be consistent that they would also make a Martin copy, and that is what I believe my "000-size" Jedson is

Another comment: In the 70s and 80s, guitar makers in Japan were trying vigorously trying to match features and build-quality of American-made guitars from Fender and Gibson. Ibanez guitars from that period are a good example (Artist series.) I think that is why the Jedson is of such good quality and has top-quality materials -- it was made in Japan in '72.

Obviously, the fit and finish of the Martin is superior; however similar materials are used. The Indian rosewood on the Jedson is solid as is the spruce top. It is most similar to the 000-28EC which was released many years after the Jedson ... hey, maybe the Martin is a copy of the Jedson ... lol

I will examine the bracing of the Jedson and see how it compares with the Martins.

Once I hear back from an authority on vintage guitars and he tells me that the Jedson has no hope of ever being collectable, I plan to make the following upgrades:
1) New Grover or Martin open-back tuners.
2) Possibly a new bridge and/or saddle, because the cut angle is very shallow on the Jedson, although I might play with the action to see if the current one can be improved
3) Ebony and/or bone bridge pins
4) A Tor-Tis pickguard because the original has lots of very fine scratches and the tortoise looks much nicer ... see the 000-28EC below.

Nice photos. How does the Jedson compare with the Martin in overall quality, sound, etc.? I have an old Rokkomamann which is similar to the 000-28 Martin in sized and it is a fabulous guitar (albeit a bit beat up).
