The Roman ship

In 1997 a Roman ship was dicovered during the buidling of a new quarter at the outskirts of Utrecht. In 2003 we visited the site to see the ship. We were quite impressed with.

So when the ship was returned from conservation and put on display, we immediately decided to go and see it. It is shown in a location where an actual fortress is revived by building a site with the exact measures of the castellum situated there in Roman times. It serves as a museum for the cities archelogical findings and as a cultural meeting place.
