Mitre Lane

Melbourne, Australia

Dining 'alfresco' these people may be unaware of the ghostly story
about which several reportings have been made.

The story:- This short lane-way was a thriving entertainment centre in the early Melbourne settlement.

A lady jilted by her lover crashed to the pavement from a balcony just above the 'carriage light' which can be seen above and to the right of our diners.

Her lover lived in the 'olive green' building which can been seen at the end of the laneway (lover centre )

Several people have seen a ghostly figure in this balcony area above the light and in the passage-way more clearly seen in the next image. This Tavern has changed hands several times and it has been previous 'managers' who have reported the 'apparition' and taken the decision to leave!

Great composition on this picture .. Though I would recommend one of two things:
Perhaps (if possible) shoot at a slower shutter speed with the camera on a tripod .. The feel of people blurring would have given the picture a nice feel.

the other suggestion would have been trying a different time of day, when the sky isn't so gray and the background seemingly overexposed ..
