29 March 2009: We went to see our friend/hairdresser Liz in Tiverton, Devon to have our monthly haircut done and we came back home with a grey cat! Yes, a cat...that creature that meows and hunts for a little mouse during the night and plays with it til the poor thing lose one of its limbs or worst...(I don't want to think about it!!!) How did we end up with a cat that day, who knows?...Anyways, our new four legged friend residing in the house is called Misty, we gave her that name because it suits well with her colour. Misty is a blue grey cat with a lovely face, long hair and gorgeous fluffy tail! We really don't know her 'full' story but the last owner who had her said that she is around 6 to 8 years old and the first owners left her at a Rescue Centre because they couldn't keep her anymore for some reasons. Misty stayed in her second home for only about a month because she didn't get on well with the owner's two little kittens and a big dog. She'd been through a lot of stress moving from one place to another in a short period of time and I remember the first day she set foot in our house, she was shaking and her head moving right and left like she was abandoned on a cross road with German Shepherd dogs coming from all directions. For three days, she hid behind the sofa and wouldn't come out! She was terrified with any little noise and the tiny bed we made for her behind the sofa was the safest place in the planet. The helpless cat stayed in her hiding place for four days with very little food and water. She looked underweight and malnourished and her hair not looking very healthy.
The mystical cat - Misty is on its way to recovery, she's getting more confident everyday and starting to be more vocal meowing every morning as if trying to say, "Good morning!". She eats and drinks with ease without looking agitated and starts to play with us everytime we call her name. She's a lapcat and staying home is more exciting for her than climbing trees outside and chasing the birds. Her ultimate joy is playing with an old shoe laces attached to a stick and you move it in different directions. She's a very lady-like cat, with simple needs and whose dream is to live a normal cat life.
Here you will find the adventures of Lady Misty on Pbase - blog entries and interesting stories of our feline friend. Enjoy!
