100M - 16" replica as original

This steering wheel was the last of the factory wood rimmed wheels produced specifically for the big Healey. It was offered as an option for the 100. The spoke design is essentially the earlier Coker designed Le Mans (see Le Mans blog) with an increased flare where the spoke joins the wood. All rims for this wheel were produced and applied by Coventry Timber Bending. The rims were beech, constructed with the bent spiral (aka barrel wound) method. The rims all had six rivets to help secure the wood. They originally came complete with non-adjustable bosses and were secured by rivets. These wheels are very rare today as are the other genuine Healey factory wood steering wheels.

For the complete history, please read the blogs for the other wheels, starting with 100S, then Le Mans.
