As I drove out looking to shoot some photos I came across this black phase black bear feasting on a elk carcass

About ten minutes later this brown phase black bear lumbered in,the black phase not wanting a fight took of at top speed and laid down in a stand of trees one hundred feet away

The bear went on eating for another ten minutes

Something caught the attention of the second bear

On the cliff directly above the bear a coyote watched in anticipation of a meal

The coyote came down and circled the bear cautiously looking for the opportunity to grab a piece of meat

The stress caused the coyote to have a involuntary evacuation,eventually he was able to dart in and grab a small piece of flesh

Meanwhile the first bear laid low under some pine trees to wait and see if any meat would be left of what was his meal originally
