The three Trumpter Swans found by Jeff Wilson in January of 2002 marked the return of the 1st wild Trumpeter Swans seen in TN since the days of Audubon. These birds were found at Lauderdale Waterfowl Refuge outside of Halls in Lauderdale Co. Unfortunately one of the birds, the unbanded juvenile, fell to the gun of a very indiscriminate waterfowler.
