The looks were much better at Skuas here off NC than the one we had in TN following Katrina, BUT, there wasn't quite the same level of excitement! Luckily, the TN bird was a pale-naped bird allowing it to be safely labeled a South Polar.
These are truly impressive birds, and create quite a stir when they come powering in amongst other birds. A few times we did see Greater Shearwaters actually chasing the Skua though.
