We saw good numbers of Brewer's, but only in two locations. We had some at Anza-Borrego, but Black Rock Canyon Campground in Joshua Tree National Monument was literally crawling with them.

I had only seen 1 Brewer's before (Del Rio, TX area), so it was nice to spend some time with these birds. We only had Chippies once on the trip, so Brewer's was the dominant Spizella.

These, and the Scott's Orioles, made nice consulation prizes for not finding the Pinyon Jays we were really after.
