Alcids were a pleasant surprise on the pelagic trip, with great looks at these Ancient Murrelets, and multiple Rhino Auklets. We had quick, but ID'able looks at a Cassin's Auklet as well. We later had Pigeon Guillemot later in the trip, for four alcid species on the trip.

These Ancients gave us great looks for several minutes, much better looks than my 1st experience with this species off of Korea! Though not the best of photos, the contrast in the gray back and black head is noticeable. You can just about make out the pale bill on one of the birds!
