Red-tailed Hawks

Tunica Co. MS

This image was taken at one of Jeff Wilson's honey holes down in Tunica Co. How often do you see 10 Red-tails sitting in the same tree during the middle of the day? Well, right here, pretty often. We actually had 11 at one time, but I wasn't ready yet with the camera. Jeff has had 13 in this tree before. Even the esteemed Brian Wheeler hasn't seen the like!

We had over 50 Red-tails within a half-mile of this location (including both dark and light-morph Harlan's, Western, and Krider's along with a gob of Eastern's).
