Meadowlarks are only present in Hawai'i on Kaua'i, where Westerns are common in yards and fields. There song was a nice reminder of home (other familiar birds on the island included Cattle Egret, Black-crowned Night-Heron, Ring-necked Pheasant, Common Moorhen, Ruddy Turnstone, Rock Dove, Short-eared owl, Northern Mockinbird, Northern Cardinal, House Sparrow, and House Finch)and looks there were much easier than most of our TN looks. This photo was taken off of my balcony also.
